Veronica Ann Taylor

Veronica Ann (Waters) Taylor, age 95, of Soth Bend Indiana, formerly of Baldwin and Ludington, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Southfield Village Nursing Home in South Bend, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, under hospice care. She was born on July 24, 1930, daughter of Clayton L. and Ellen A. (Porteus) Waters, both of whom proceeded her in death. She was also proceeded in death by her dear, husband, Alvin Taylor, Jr.

In addition to a fulfilling family life, Veronica had a very active retirement life. She generously gave of her time to benefit her community, from volunteering at retirement homes to collecting money for the less fortunate. She consistently opened her heart to benefit all. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Always looking for adventure, she took flying lessons and line danced for many years with the Boot Scooters of Ludington, Michigan. She was a devout catholic and traveled to Rome to see the Pope. She made friends everywhere she went with her smiling blue eyes and infectious laughter. Her family and friends will sorely miss having her in their lives.

She precedes her 8 children, Beverly Rodio, Steve, Mark, Jeffery, Pamela Rose, Bryan, John and Matthew and their spouses; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins and dear friends into heaven. She will be greeted by her husband Alvin Taylor and Gordon Rose, a very special grandson, her parents Clayton and Ellen (Porteus) Waters, her brother Clayton and sister Dorthea.

A Mass will be celebrated for Veronica at a future date and interment rites next to Alvin at Fort Custer National Cemetery will also take place. Those wishing to express their sympathy are encouraged to consider a donation to St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington or St. Ann, Lake County Senior Services in Baldwin in memory of Veronica.
