Tracy Marie (Tucker) Zahm, age 58, of Belding, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends, under hospice care on Friday evening, February 27, 2026. She was born in Belding, Michigan, the daughter of Michael L. and Violet M. (Tucker) Quillan, both of whom preceded her in death. She was educated at Belding Area schools with the Class of 1985. She married James A. Zahm on October 4, 1985, in Stanton, and he survives to mourn her passing. Tracy started her work life as a waitress at several area restaurants, and she owned and operated an in-home day care to be at home with her own children while she also cared for others. More recently she worked as a welding machine operator for Industrial Engineering Services until her health declined and required that she slow down and spend more time at home. Tracy loved to scrapbook and make crafts of all kinds. She also loved to cook and entertain family and friends for drinks and a meal out on the deck. If she wasn’t preparing something to share at home, you might find her whipping up one of her delicious soups or some other comfort food to take to someone who was sick or in need of a pick-me-up. Performing random acts of kindness such as these, was one of her trademarks. If it wasn’t food, it would be a little gift she picked up somewhere or a crafty item or card she made herself with a personal touch. She made frequent trips to the mailbox to send out what she called “happy mail” to people on a regular basis. Her kindness will be missed by all who knew her, including her dear puppies, Charlie and Missy, who she loved dearly as well.
In addition to her caring husband, James, Tracy will be remembered and missed by her children Nikki Zahm of Belding and Cody (Brenda Tamez) Zahm of Belding; grandchildren Zayne Faylor, Taelynn Faylor, and Arlo Zahm; a sister Debbie Shearer of Stanton; nieces Jennifer (Bob) Lear of Muir, Erin Hyde of Greenville and Angela (Erik) Vanderlip of Greenville; a nephew Christian (Kristen) Johnson of Greenville; and several cousins and many great and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Johnson.
A Celebration of Life Gathering is being planned for spring. Those wishing to express their sympathy are recommended to consider a donation to the Alvah N. Belding Library in Belding.
