Listen to Obituary

Todd Allen Gibbs, age 55, of Belding, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, following a courageous 11 year battle with Multiple System Atrophy and Parkinsons. He was born on July 25, 1970, in Edwards, California, son of, son of Max E. and Allean (Ort) Gibbs. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1989, married his high school sweetheart, Debra Ann Yanke, at Shiloh Community Church on March 2, 1991, and she survives to mourn his passing. Todd was a skilled carpenter and worked at Erhardt Construction for many years, slowing down only when his health required him to. Todd also served for 19 years as a dedicated member of the Belding Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood-working projects and fishing. Most important to Todd though, were faith and family. He was a member of Smyrna Bible Church and deeply cherished every moment he was able to spend with those he loved.

In addition to his dear wife of 35 years, Debra, Todd is survived by his son, Tyler Max Gibbs of Belding, his father Max E. (Elzada) Gibbs of Belding; sisters, Kea Lee Gibbs of Belding and Tieheena Lemerond & Lisa Cowley, both of Wisconsin; nieces and nephews, Raven, Dylan, Kylan, and Myana; his mother-in-law Shirley Yanke of Belding; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many work and fire-fighting friends, and his beloved pet Labrador, Ella. He was preceded in death by his dear mother, Allean in 2021, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and an uncle, Tim Gibbs.
