Theodore James “Ted” Rosenberger, age 77, of Walker, formerly of Newaygo and Belding, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Corewell Health, Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born on June 3, 1946, in Grand Rapids to Lancelot and Betty Jean (Brown) Rosenberger, both of whom preceded him in death.  He attended Rogers High School and then enlisted into the United States Navy to proudly serve his country during the Vietnam War.  He spent much of his time in the military traveling from port to port, stationed in several different locations including Vietnam and Australia. He then became a skilled welder working in several manufacturing facilities including G.A. Richards, from which he retired after many years of service. He married Susan I. Shepard and started a family and was later married to Barbara Jean Cope (Comstock) for many years, both of whom survive.

Ted was a man of many passions and brought joy to those around him through his love for the game.  Among his favorite pastimes were engaging in friendly competitions, and he found immense pleasure in games such as cornhole, billiards, darts, and bowling.  He was always up for a good match and enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones during these playful moments.

A true golf enthusiast, Ted not only found delight in playing the sport but also loved watching it.  He relished the camaraderie and excitement that came with every swing.

Another talent that Ted graciously shared was his gift for music.  His nimble fingers skillfully stummed the guitar, and he often entertained his family and friends with delightful melodies.  Amidst his many active pursuits, Ted appreciated the simpler things in life.  He was an avid reader, finding solace and inspiration within the pages of various books.  Ted was also a fan of the show “The Voice,” where he enjoyed witnessing talented individuals share their gift of song.

In addition to his prior spouses, Ted is survived by his son, James C.R. (Helena) Rosenberger of Walker, MI; a stepson Charles B. (Wendy) Cope of Richland, MI; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by s sisters who died in her youth; a stepson, Joseph A. Cope; and several aunts, uncles.

With profound respect and gratitude, we will gather to honor the life of Theodore James Rosenberger, a man of courage and honor.  A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., and will take place at the home of James and Helena Rosenberger, 4061 Bulrush Dr., NW, Walker, MI 49534.
