Theodore Kenneth “Teddy” Bruin, age 34, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Greenville, entered into the presence of his Savior on August 25, 2026. He was born on July 30, 1992, in Seoul, South Korea, and joined his family in the United Sates at an early age, son of Jerry A. and Karen J. (VanderVeen) Bruin. Theodore was home schooled during his primary years and completed his secondary education and Greenville High School graduating with the Class of 2011. He continued his education at Montcalm Community College and worked for several years at Fifth/Third Bank, Ada Branch. Teddy had a passion for music and was a talented musician, vocalist, and song writer. He recorded many of his pieces and was constantly working on his craft. Theodore also produced a Podcast, titled, Theo’s coffee break, where he explored and discussed many topics about life and living. Teddy also had a genuinely caring heart and loving disposition. He was a caregiver to several family members including his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Marjorie and his uncle Dave, who he looked after. He will be dearly missed and the memories of him cherished by all who knew him.
Teddy is survived by his loving parents, Jerry and Karen; his twin brother, Joseph Frederick Bruin of Greenville, and sisters, Stephanie (Shawn) Caulder of Hopkins & Mackinaw Island, and Theresa (Randall Osborn) Bruin of Schoolcraft; nieces and nephews, Devan, Sidney, Gavyn, and Shelby; several aunts & uncles, and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and an aunt and uncle.
Teddy’s family will greet visitors at Oakwood Christian Reformed Church, 8750 Storey Road (M91), Belding, Michigan 48809, on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Teddy’s Funeral Service will take place on Saturday afternoon, at a time be determined with, Pastor David Kerkstra officiating. Interment will take place at Ashley Cemetery. Memorial donations in Teddy’s name are recommended to Bethany Christian Services Adoption Programs.
