Listen to Obituary

Tamra Ann “Tammy” Oberlin, age 65, of Orleans, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, March 30, 2026. She was born in Greenville, Michigan, on June 7, 1960, the daughter of Beth Ann (Post) Douglas, who preceded her in death. Tammy attended Belding High School and worked for many years at Electrolux where she did many jobs including Assembly work and hi-lo operation. She worked there until the plant closed and after a few days off, she joined the Dial-a-ride team in Belding and has served the community in that capacity for nearly 20 years. Tammy enjoyed helping people in her role as bus driver and became friends with many of the regular passengers that she took where they needed to be. In her spare-time she loved to cook and always looked forward to garage-sale outings and she loved flowers of all kinds.

Memories of Tammy will cherished by her loving family including her prior husband and lifelong friend, Dean Keith Oberlin, Jr.; her daughter, Tracey (Garik) Pennington of Orleans; grandchildren, Kaysin, Jayson and Gideon; her brothers, Gordon (Chris) Douglas of Orleans, John (Kandi) Douglas of Belding and James (Shelly) Douglas of Orleans; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dean Keith Oberlin III, who passed away just five weeks ago; her uncle Duane Post; her aunts Marion Post and Betty Vaughn and mother-in-law Mildred Oberlin.

Tammy’s family will host a Life Celebration at the Belding V.F.W. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Those wishing to express their sympathy through a donation in Tammy’s memory are encouraged to consider the wishes of the family.
