Patricia A. Brady

Patricia Ann Brady, age 84. of Belding, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Corewell Health - Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born May 2nd, 1942, in Ionia, Michigan, daughter of Francis James and Veronica Louise (Dixon) Brady, both of whom preceded her in death. Pat completed her elementary and secondary education at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Ionia, graduating with the Class of 1960. She married and started her family soon after and focused on her family and home, and raising her five daughters. She worked for Attwood Manufacturing for 38 years, retiring to enjoy a slower pace.  While at Attwood, she served as Union Steward and was an officer of the union, Local for a period of time. She also enjoyed several pastimes including reading and gardening, especially tending to her flowers. Pat always looked forward to the Christmas holiday season because it offered plenty of opportunities for gatherings and special events with family and friends, which she loved to host whenever possible. After she retired, she assumed “Snowbird” status and spent winters in Lakeland, Florida for many years. She had countless lifelong friendships, having developed them at work, at Church, and in Florida during her travels there. In keeping with her organizing and leadership skills, while in Florida, she stepped up to serve as the H.O.A. Board President in her retirement community for several years. Pat was life-long member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia and was active in many ministries and volunteer activities through the years. Pat was a great listener and was always available when needed for family and friends and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Roger) Kennedy of Cedar Springs, Janet (Fred) Clark of Belding, Luann (Dave) Newlove of Sand Lake and Leslie (Wade) Donovan of Belding; siblings, Veronica Ward, Mary (Chuck) Booth and Tim (Cheryl) Brady; many grandchildren, including a special grandson, Mike Woods, who’s unwavering love, support and dedication meant so much to Pat; several great grandchildren; and many, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Debra Crater; and her brother and best friend, Mike Brady.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan 48809. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 434 High Street, Ionia, Michigan 48846, with Fr. Eugene Visitation will also take place at the church for an hour before Mass on Friday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Ionia.
