Patricia Anne Stephan, age 86, of Belding, formerly of Ionia and Grand Rapids, passed away at SKLD Nursing Center in Ionia under hospice care on Tuesday, December 6. She was born in Grand Rapids, on March 17, 1936, daughter of Joseph and Alice (Sytsma) Marshall. She was educated in Godwin Heights Schools and worked in several capacities during her lifetime, serving as a Manager at the K-Mart on Alpine and owning and operating a restaurant for many years. She married Niles Stephan, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Following their retirement, the couple moved to Irons, to enjoy northern Michigan nature during their golden years. Patricia enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading to pass the time and was always ready and willing to make a trip to the casino. Throughout her life, making a home for her husband and family was always a priority.
Patricia is survived by a daughter, Terri (Chris) Sikes of Belding; grandchildren, Christopher, Aaron and Robby; and a great granddaughter, Evelyn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, two sisters, Carole Payne and Donna Blundell; and a niece, Lora Adrianse.
Private family remembrances and interment rites will take place. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcomed to consider a donation to the March of Dimes charity of their choice.
