Marlene P. Bernard

Marlene Pearl (Chase) Bernard, age 82, of Harrison, formerly of Belding, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, August 31, 2026. She was born on March 4, 1944, in Muskegon, daughter of Marvin F. and Hazel V. (Connelly) Chase, both of whom preceded her in death.

Marlene will be remembered and missed by her dear family including her loving husband of 56 yrs, Robert D. Bernard; children Brenda lee (Darren) Moore, William Ironside, Tammy (Larry) Parcher, Daniel (Janel) Ironside, Bobbie-Jo (Doug) Thompson and Robert (Michelle) Bernard Jr.; 18 Grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, with 3 more on the way!; siblings Mark and Jane; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Vera, Ila, Joyce, Norma, Eddie, Mabel, George. 

Visitation and funeral services will take place on Tuesday September 8, 2026, at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon, and the Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ed Milam officiating. Interment next to her parents will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens.
