Kurt W. Simmons

Kurt William Simmons, age 71, of Belding, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly, at Corewell Health, Greenville Hospital in Greenville, early Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on August 7, 1955, son of Roger William and Donna Joy (Marshall) Simmons-Blundell, both of whom preceded him in death. Kurt was educated in Grand Rapids area schools and worked as a driver for a beverage company and then Federal Express for several years and later worked for General Motors for many years, from which he retired. He enjoyed life in the country tending to his gardens, which he was very proud of. In fact, the day just before he died, he was out picking the beans that were ready and enjoying the beautiful summer day. Kurt also enjoyed frequent trips to the casino with family members and friends.

Kurt is survived by his niece, Julie Colvin, and nephew, Robert Simmons; special cousins Robby Sikes, Shannon Paskewicz, Terri Sue Sikes, Christopher Sikes, and Aaron Sikes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Simmons and Terry Simmons, an aunt, Carol Payne, and a cousin, Lora Adrainse.
