Katelyn Elizabeth "Kate" (Gosnell) Puglia, age 38, of Belding, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2026, under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with liver cancer. She was born on November 27, 1987, at home in Belding, Michigan, the daughter of Dr. Robert A. and Leslie W. (Agnew) Gosnell. Kate attended Faith Community Christian School and completed her secondary education at home before attending Otterbein College, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater. During a summer with the College Light Opera Company in Falmouth, Cape Cod, she met the love of her life, Michael Anthony Puglia. The couple exchanged vows on the Gosnell family farm near Belding on July 16, 2016, and shared nearly ten years of devoted marriage. While Kate's primary focus was her home and family, she pursued many passions with enthusiasm. In her youth, she was active in 4-H for many years, showing horses and goats. Her lifelong love of animals continued as she raised a herd of dairy goats, participating in shows and competitions across the country. She was also an exceptional bread baker, a talented cook, and possessed a beautiful singing voice. Kate's intelligence, empathetic nature, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Kate's life and legacy will be cherished by her beloved husband, Michael of Belding, and her dear son, Kaleb John. She is also survived by her siblings, Jordan (Season) Gosnell of Marne, Alicia (Christopher) Grano of Naperville, Illinois, and Hannah Gosnell of Grand Rapids; her parents-in-law, John and Kathleen Puglia of Northvale, New Jersey; her brother-in-law, James (Brielle) Puglia of River Vale, New Jersey; her nieces and nephews, Juniper Gosnell, Rock Grano, Rose Grano, Harley Puglia, and Remy Puglia; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Kate was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S.
