Julie Marie Wolcott

April 15, 1957 — May 1, 2024

Belding, Michigan

Julie Marie Wolcott, age 67, of Belding, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family early Wednesday morning, May 1, 2024. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 15, 1957, daughter of John and Donna Marie (Harris) Moore, both of whom preceded her in death.  She graduated from Godwin Heights High School and continued her education at Davenport University earning Associate’ Degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting.  She married Thomas J. Wolcott on September 2, 1989, in Lowell, Michigan, and shared nearly 35 years of marriage with him. She worked for several years as a Para-Pro at Orchard Hills School in Belding, and more recently was a Produce Clerk for the Meijer Store in Lowell. She took great care of her customers and has been greatly missed since her retirement.  She enjoyed hunting for “treasures” and loved a road trip to mountainous areas or anywhere with palm trees. She was immensely proud of her family. Julie was particularly fond of her title as Grandmama to her grandchildren and her greatest joy came when spending quality time with them.  She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Memories of Julie will be cherished by her devoted husband, Thomas, her children and grandchildren, Amber and Ben Jonas and their children, Hunter, Finn and Monroe; Aubrey and Mike DeKubber and their children, Cadance, Davis, Colette, Eston and Asher; Nathan and Chelsey Wolcott and their children, Hailey and Kennedy; Taylor Wolcott and her son, Teyton; and Kaitlyn and Luke Nielsen and their son, Wesley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Moore and a brother, James Moore.

Julie’s family is planning a Celebration of Life gathering to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, Julie would want you to honor her memory by doing an act of kindness for a stranger or someone you love. For additional information contact the Verdun Family Funeral Home at (616) 794-1300 or www.verdunfh.com, who is caring for the arrangements.
