Julie Anne (Frahm) Havens, age 79, of Belding, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, October 7 2019, at Metron of Belding Nursing Home under hospice care with her loving family and caregivers by her side. She was born in White Plains, New York, on January 4, 1940, the daughter of Martin and Lesta (Coates) Frahm. Julie completed her schooling at St. Francis Xavier Elementary School and Lowell High School. She was always an active member of the community, serving on the Mary Patrick Guild of St. Mary’s Hospital and on the Board of the YWCA in Grand Rapids. While a long-term member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, she served in many capacities both at the church and school. Julie entered the fashion world as a career choice and became owner of Ehinger Shoe Salon in downtown Grand Rapids, operating the Salon for many years. She eventually moved to the Belding area to be nearby her children.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Lesta, and a niece, Marcy. She is survived by a sister Roseanna (Frahm) Post of Florida; children, Kara (Terry) Suits of Belding, Russell Havens of Rockford and David Havens of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Joey, Brenna, Merrisa, Faith, Stephanie, and Adrian; many great grandchildren; two nieces, Robin and Christine; and many cousins and friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Graveside committal prayers will be led by Deacon Dan Schneider at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Otisco Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the B Foundation.
