Johnny Bob Strickland Jr., age 53, of Kalamazoo, passed away on July 6, 2025, at Intersect Healthcare in Belding, following a brief stay there. Johnny was born in Michigan City, Indiana, on June 26, 1972, to Johnny Bob Strickland, Sr. and Sue Nell (Hester) Strickland, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Loy Norrix High School and enjoyed his work in lawn care. He loved spending time with all of his grandkids, working on his cars, and until recent years, you could almost always find him at the bowling alley! Johnny was a fantastic bowler and well known in the bowling community for having bowled an envied number of “perfect” 300 games during his lifetime. Not to mention his crafty ways to pick up the hard spares.
Johnny is survived by his children Tori Hayward, Travis Hayward, Breeanna Nufer, Jaedyn Strickland, and Jenessa Sehy; grandchildren: Keagen Lyon, Ashton Sivley, Alivia Wyman, and Luka Smith; siblings: Gay Garza and Melody Strickland; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
