Joanne Catherine (Dillenbeck) Holderman, age 88, of Greenville, passed away on January 11, 2025, at Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital. She was born on June 12,1936, daughter of Abner Joseph and Belma Pearl (Hogan) Dillenbeck, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Belding Area Schools and married to start her family early in life. She was dedicated to raising her children and worked for many years at Jolly Kids and Gibson’s Manufacturing, from which she retired to enjoy her many spare-time activities. She enjoyed traveling to places near and far including Las Vegas, New Orleans, Florida and going to the local casinos to do a little gambling. She loved it when people came to visit and was quick to put on the coffee to converse with friends and family. She had a great singing voice when she was young and would sing Loretta Lynn songs around the house.
Joanne was a strong and independent woman and was loving and caring to all her family. She loved to feed her family, whether she was cooking her famous cheese gravy over toast, her goulash that no one in the family will ever be able to replicate, or her chili that was so hot it made your lips burn. She taught her children and grandchildren not to take guff from anyone and was proud of that fact. She was full of spit and vinegar, loved to laugh and greatly enjoyed being a grandma and great grandma. She enjoyed sitting outside in the warm months and made countless memories as she traveled around the country with Sandy through the years. She was happiest when she was taking care of people. Her nieces were always with her as they grew up and her grandchildren too enjoyed being with her as much as possible.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Sheree Lee Lodholtz, Sandra Jo (Randy) Kuiper, and James Edward (Tina) Holderman; her dear grandchildren, Brooke Colegrove, Dylan (Pedro) Harris, Marrisa (Adam) Tyson, Alexis King, Danielle Anstiss, Cristen (Aaron) McQuillan, and Kelsey Holderman; and her beloved great grandchildren, Cole Colegrove, Rowan Colegrove, Grayson Colegrove, Eli Holderman, Hudson McQuillan, Cameron (Abbie) Ward, Makenzie Ostrander, Tanner Hudson, Jayden Byrne, Kaeyn Hawkins, Azaelia Underly, JaVontae Anstiss, and JaKai Anstiss; and one great-great granddaughter, Amelia Kuiper; a brother Walter Dillenbeck and several nieces, including special nieces, Angie Nelson, Shanna Train and Robin Francis, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce (Jim) Cole, Shirley (Dave) Johnson, and Judy Benson; a sister-in-law, Arlene Dillenbeck; and a nephew, Mike Nummer.
