Jason E. Reeves

July 26, 1973 — January 12, 2024

Belding, Michigan

Jason Eric Reeves, age 50, of Belding, passed away peacefully at home following a battle with cancer, on Friday evening, January 12, 2024, under hospice care, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Greenville, Michigan on July 26, 1973, son of Frederick J. and Maryann S. (VanOcker) Reeves, both of whom preceded him in death.  Jason graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1993, where he played trombone in the band. He worked in several capacities during his lifetime, including positions at Blough, Inc. in Lowell, and Lear Seating in Grand Rapids, and more recently as a Parts Finisher at Impact Operations, LLC, in Saranac. He was an avid outdoorsman, who hunted and fished whenever he could. If there was better hunting and fishing someplace other than around home, he would make a trip to Northern Michigan or another hotspot to enjoy nature. One of his favorite pastimes was “checking the farm” on his side by side with his buddy, Mike, to make sure everything was in order with the property and the hunting blinds. Jason was an active member of the Smyrna Social Club and Smyrna Friendship Club assisting with countless fundraisers and St. Patrick’s Day events and attended Smyrna Bible Church for many years with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jason leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Jane A. (Aaron) Gleason of Belding; nephews, Ashton Lee Mead, Cody Michael Reeves and Matthew Glen Gleason; close family friends, Brandee Harger and Isabelle Harger; and many, many cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation and Funeral Services will take place on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Smyrna Bible Church, with Pastors Roger Tahtinen and Darwin Hassert Officiating.  Visitation will take place beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the Service will begin at 12 Noon.  Private Interment will take place at Otisco Township Cemetery, next to his parents. Those planning an expression of sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution in Jason’s memory to the “B” Foundation or Smyrna Bible Church. Envelopes will be available at the services or by contacting Verdun Family Funeral Home in Belding, who is caring for the arrangements at (616) 794-1300 or www.verdunfh.com.
