Janice K. Boisvert

Janice was born on November 25, 1945, in Grand Haven, MI. She passed away peacefully and without pain on September 14, 2026 after a short illness. Her journey was guided by the love and values instilled by her late parents, Kathryn and Anthony Grabowski, and shared with her late siblings, Patricia Orr and Walter Grabowski. She held a special place in her heart for her best friends Sandy and Tom Baars, Larry and Debbi Marcinak, and Hedy Beckering, who have all predeceased her.

Janice was a devoted mother to her daughter, Tanya VanOtteren, and her son-in-law Patrick. Her legacy of love continues through her cherished grandchildren, Abby VanOtteren-Smith and her husband Nate, Megan Burdick and her husband Andrew, and Cole VanOtteren. The joy of her life was further enriched by the presence of her great-granddaughter, Bailey Burdick. She will be greatly missed by her sister Maryellen Grabowski and her nephew Nicholas Grabowski. She is fondly remembered by numerous cousins, friends, and others who were fortunate to experience her warmth and kindness.

As a lifelong member of St. Mary’s parish in Spring Lake, Janice's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She pursued education at Grand Valley, a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and growth. Her career in radiology at Hackley Hospital was marked by dedication and excellence. Rising from an X-ray technician to assistant manager, Janice was admired not only for her professional skills but also for her ability to bring people together, hosting memorable work parties that turned colleagues into family.

Janice had a zest for life that was infectious. She found joy in the simple pleasures: reading, cheering for the Tigers, antiques, and visiting the casino. Her love for Elvis was legendary, and she never missed her weekly movie nights with her daughter, complete with hot dogs and popcorn. The holidays, especially Christmas Eve, were magical at Janice’s home, where she always had an extra seat at the table for anyone in need of company or comfort.

Her most treasured moments were those spent with family, particularly the weekly Wednesday night dinners. Janice had an unparalleled gift for nurturing and helping others, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. She loved her kitties, Tassy and Phoenix, in addition to the others she had over the years.

Per Janice’s wishes, there will not be a funeral but rather a celebration of life, date/time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Bailey’s College Fund, account 99Y-U8R, to continue Janice’s legacy of caring and support, or to Heaven Can Wait cat rescue.

Janice's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, inspiring acts of kindness and compassion for generations to come.
