Jane A. Hunt

Jane Alfreda (Adams) Hunt, age 81, of Ionia, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday. September 8, 2026, under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in, Albion, Michigan on July 3, 1945, daughter of Darwin R. and Thelma A. (Niceswander) Adams, both of whom preceded her in death. Jane graduated from Albion High School with the Class of 1964 and worked for many years as a waitress at Big Boy and the 115 Truck Stop. She also worked at FedEx until her eyesight declined and led to her retirement. She married Douglas Hunt in 1965, sharing 26 years of marriage prior to their divorce in 1991. Among the many things she enjoyed, a trip to the casino was one of her favorites. She was lovingly referred to as Mom and Grandma by all who knew and loved her.

Jane is survived by a brother, Carl Adams of Simi Valley, California; and children, Shelly Hunt of Ionia, Michigan, Charles Hunt of Leesburg, Florida, and Brian (Angela Blodgett) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; grandchildren, Nicole Smith, Shannon Mier, Rob Mier, and Sean Heath, all of Ionia, Eric Heath of Ludington, Michael (Wynona Fee) Hunt of Albion, Sarah Hunt of Parma, Matthew Hunt of Kalamazoo, Alaina (Jeramiah Wisdon) Hunt, of Lansing, Noah Hunt of Battle Creek, Amanda Vail of Mt. Pleasant, Chrissy Montgomery of Montgomery Alabama, Kendra Dorsett and Brock Dorsett, both of Albion; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abigail Hunt.
