Jacqueline M. ”Jackie” Zahm-Bell

Jacqueline M. ”Jackie” Zahm-Bell, age 86, of Pewamo, formerly of Ionia and Belding, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, at Fountainview of Lowell, Assisted Living Center. She was born on November 17, 1930, the daughter of Leo Bradley and Mary Elizabeth (Kline) Padgett, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Ionia High School with the class of 1949 and worked as an Assembly Specialist for many years at Gibson/Electrolux. She married Leland Zahm on April 11, 1953 and started her family with him. Following his death, she married Carl K. Bell on October 25, 1980 and he preceded her in death. Jackie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking at home, but also loved the outdoors and time on the boat and going fishing. She always enjoyed time with family, especially the grandchildren.

Jackie leaves her dear family to mourn her passing including three children, Angela (David) Sailer of Belding, Michael (Brenda) Zahm of Portland and Suzanne K. Nelson of Pewamo; grandchildren Tracey (Mark) Lafayette, Jessica Sailer, Timothy Speckin, Christina (Sam) Harris, Melissa (Timothy) Gemmill, Lee (Tasha) Zahm, Eric (Sue) Hoisington, Christopher (Danielle) Hoisington, Curtis (Carlee) Hoisington; several great grandchildren; step-children Doug (Deb), Rick (Michelle), Mark (Denise) and Rosalyn; a sister, Janet Conley, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Speckin, a brother, Willdan Padgett, a brother-in-law, Glen Conley and two granddaughters, Jussie Mary and Jacqueline Ann.

The family will host a Life Celebration Gathering on Friday, May 26, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan 48809. Private burial rites will be accorded at St. Mary Cemetery, south of Belding. Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcomed to consider a memorial contribution in her name to an Alzheimer’s/Dementia related charity or another worthy charity of the donor’s choice.
