Geneva Lavane Dittrich, age 84, of Fenwick, passed away at Mission Point of Greenville Nursing Home on Tuesday evening, December 15, 2020, surrounded by family. She was born on January 1, 1936, in Gaylord, Michigan She graduated from Mancelona Schools and worked in several capacities during her lifetime, including factory assembly positions and serving as a home health care provider. Geneva had an adventurist spirit, relocating frequently to pursue new interests and opportunities. She enjoyed reading and outdoor adventures and travels, especially visits to Lake Superior.
She will be remembered by her nine children, Ric (Alana) Dittrich, Tony Dittrich, Doug Dittrich, Dianna (Everitt) Dusette, Len Dittrich, Kevin (Susan) Dittrich, Lori Dittrich, Pati (Larry) Freeman and Susan (Mike) Woulfing; 30 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Ealy; a brother-in-law, Bill Topolinski and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings.
A memorial gathering celebrating Geneva’s will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2021, at the Roadside Table Rest Area on US 131 S. of Boyne Falls, Michigan. We will gather there at 2:00 p.m. and the service will take place shortly thereafter. In lieu of flowers the family recommends a memorial donation in Geneva’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
