Florence E. Thompson

Florence Elizabeth (Nowak) Thompson, age 92, of Trenton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 2, 2026. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 10, 1933, daughter of Peter Joseph and Mabel Rose (Goodwin) Nowak. She graduated from Allen Park High School and worked for many years at McCord and Wolverine supplying gaskets for the automotive industry. Florence loved to play cards, belonged to several euchre groups, enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was a proud charter member of the T.H.A. Auxiliary. She kept a full social calendar and was always interested in the latest accomplishments and happenings in the lives of her family members and friends. For many years, Florence wintered in Texas to be with her sons and grandchildren and enjoy the milder weather. Florence was an avid Red Wings hockey fan, and will also be remembered as an animal lover, especially her dog Jasmine, whom she called, “Lovee”.

Florence leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Thomas Edward (Stacey) Thompson and Jospeh Charles (Sue) Thompson both of Texas; grandchildren, Rhonda Thompson, (Jeremy) Niebauer and Gregory Laurence (Amanda) Marks; great grandchildren Isaac Wade Niebauer, Thomas Bill Niebauer, and Elizabeth Rose Niebauer; several nieces, nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nikki Denise Dooner, and siblings, Nancy McMahan, Thomas Richard Nowak and William Joseph Nowak; a niece Lenni McMahan; and a grandson Alan Lee Marks.

Private memorial and burial rites will take place. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution to Best Pals, Citizens for Animal Protection or the Humane Society.
