Fay E. Cope-Davidson

Fay Elizabeth Cope-Davidson, age 68, of Vestaburg, formerly of Belding, passed away at home on Wednesday morning, August 19, 2026, under hospice care surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 30, 1958, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Carroll W. and Joy E. (Parrish) Webster both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised by loving parents, John & Virginia Bowman, both of whom also preceded her in death. Fay attended Grattan Elementary School followed by Belding High School and then continued her education at Montcalm Community College. Many would recognize her from the several area gas station/convenience stores that she worked at through the years with her close friend, Lynda Sowles. She married Ronald G. Davidson on August 14, 2026, in a private ceremony at home with her children and a few close family members sharing the moment. She loved dogs, playing B.I.N.G.O., going fishing and was a faithful daytime soap-opera fan, who almost never missed an episode. Fay would open her home to anyone in need of anything and had many, many young people who she considered her own children and treated them as such. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Fay is survived by her dear, husband Ron Davidson, her children, Jessica (Joe) Merritt of Lakeview, Jennifer (Ernest Ortiz) Bliss of Sheridan, Derek (Rachel) Cope of Portland, Nathea (Matt Greenway) Buckmaster of Vestaburg and Cristal (Keith Woodbury) Fishburn of Vestaburg, grandchildren, Corbin Coleman, Pearl (Tyler) Kwiatkowski, Jenna Cope, Chaynce Cope, Silas Cope, Nayden Dean, Nayen Dean, Nacre Bos, Reese Bos, Hanna Fishburn, Alexis (Ethan) White, Tristin (Kortney) Wells, Cameron Merritt, Caleb Merritt; great grandchildren, Jaxsin, Finn, Ky'Mora, Elizabeth, and Rose; siblings, Sandy Bowman-Moore, Dan (Elaine) Bowman, and Tom (Janet) Bowman; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, including her prior husband, Steve Cope, Tom Mortenson, Ben Diehl, who has become as close as a brother, and countless other special life-long friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Adam Cope, granddaughters, Sanyia Dean and Skilynn Dean; a great granddaughter, Athena White, siblings, Sharon Shank and Robert Webster; and brothers-in-law, Red Moore and Stan Shank.

Fay’s Funeral is planned for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan 48809. The family will greet visitors at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Fay are invited to consider a contribution toward her funeral expenses.
