Diane Marie Stevens, age 68, of Belding, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 26, 1956, in Saginaw, Michigan, daughter of Loren Delmer and Margaret Mary (Scleski) Krull, both of whom preceded her in death. After attending high school in Carson City, she worked for many years for Gibsons Manufacturing/Electrolux. She also co-owned and operated Blue Water Auto Sales in Muir alongside her husband, Ric, for more than 20 years. Diane was a determined and independent woman who also as loving, helpful and caring as a person could be. She had a soft spot for all animals and wildlife, feeding any critter that happened by her wooded place on the river. She also took in strays and “rescued’ horses and other animals to give them a better life, including her current horse, Honey. She was a skilled pool player, participating in the league at the V.F.W. for many years and enjoyed success in tournament play traveling to state and national championship matches on several occasions, including going to Las Vegas to compete. She enjoyed local float trips down the Flat River in her kayak and would dream of world travels when visiting local Chinese restaurants whos’ wall décor featured paintings of the Great Wall of China. After learning of her illness, she started completing items on her bucket list and among other trips, made the journey to China where she walked a section of the Great Wall and took in many other sights, scenery and culture of the country. Diana loved and cared deeply for her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
The memories and legacy of Diane will be cherished by her family including her husband Richard “Ric” Stevens; children Jazanne Newell of Wisconsin, Jennifer (Bill) Ferrier of Conklin, and Timothy J.
