Denise Lynn Adams

July 23, 1964 — April 18, 2019

Denise Lynn (Vine) Adams, age 54, of Belding, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at home under hospice care surrounded by her loving family and several friends, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on July 23, 1964, on Traverse Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, the daughter of Dennis Lynn and Nancy Ann (Powers) Vine, both of whom preceded her in death. Denise graduated from Greenville High School and continued her education at Montcalm Community College. She married Merton Michael Adams on May 8, 1999 at Shiloh Community Church in Orleans, Michigan and he survives. She worked in several capacities during her lifetime most recently as a Production Scheduler with Valley City Sign, where she had worked for 14 years, until June of 2018, when her illness progressed. Denise will be remembered for her strong will and a direct personality. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, riding quads, fishing, bus trips and more but no matter what she was doing, she was usually in charge of making sure everyone was having a good time and was accounted for. She was an active member of the Belding American Legion, Hugo Fales Post #203, Ladies Auxiliary for many years, leading many events at the post and served as the group’s Treasurer for many years.

Denise leaves her loving family to cherish the memory of her including her husband of nearly twenty years, Mike Adams of Belding; children Eric (Hailey) Rich of Ohio and Tara (Brian) Tran of Belding; grandchildren Connor Brooks and Oakleigh Rich; a brother Troy (Cindy) Vine of Greenville; a niece Monica Vine; and many close and dear friends.

Cremation rites are taking place and the family will host a Celebration of Life gathering at the Belding American Legion, Hugo Fales Post #203, on Saturday, April 27, 2019, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcomed to consider a contribution in Denise’s memory to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Belding American Legion.
