David J. Raspotnik

David John Raspotnik, age 72, of Belding, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Corewell Health Hospice on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. David was born on June 15, 1954, in Manistee, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Mamie (Grandpacka) Raspotnik, both of whom preceded him in death. Dave dedicated the majority of his career to Amway Corporation in Ada, retiring in 2019. Dave will always be remembered as a hard working, determined, and strong person with a contagious smile. He was usually the “life of the party” and giving his close family and friends a “Rug” story was his specialty. David adored his family and was always everyone’s cheerleader. He was a faithful supporter of U of M, the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. His compassion for others, selflessness, and energy will be traits his family members will miss deeply.

He is survived by his family, Celia Larsen; daughters, Lisa (Chris) Koeman and Amanda Tuka; Celia’s sons, Jake and Kyle Larsen; grandchildren, Emmett and Garrett Koeman; brothers Melvin (Alice) Schweitzer, Jim (Pam) Raspotnik, Joe (Patty) Raspotnik, Richard Raspotnik, and Ed (Kathleen) Raspotnik; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Raspotnik, and sisters, Betty Ledger, Kathy Moore and Barb Snay.

David’s family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the doctors and nurses at Corewell Health-Blodgett, and -Butterworth Hospitals, as they helped them navigate through Dave’s battle with cancer, as well as the staff and caregivers at Corewell Health Hospice for their care and compassion throughout this difficult time.

Cremation rites are taking place, and David’s family will hold private memorial observances.
