Cynthia M. Stewart

Cynthia Marie Stewart, age 71, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 14, 2026. She was born in Belding Michigan, on December 22, 1954, daughter of Richard Charles and Glenna Marie (Godfrey) Cowles, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Belding High School and worked for many years at Electrolux in Greenville until the plant closed. She then returned to school and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in business at Davenport University. Most recently prior to retirement she worked at Amway Corporation in Ada. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching to pass the time. She dearly loved her cats and had a passion for supporting cat rescue efforts. She also enjoyed spending time watching her “grand-doggers” when her son and his family travelled.

Cynthia’s family will cherish their memories of her including her son, Christopher (Mallory) Stewart of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, grandchildren, Ethan Borin and Grayson Borin both of Mt. Pleasant; an uncle, Gilbert Godfrey of Greenville, Michigan and several additional cousins, distant family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Riva.

A Graveside Service will take place at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, 8690 Storey Road, Belding, Michigan 48809, on Friday, March 20, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ed Milam officiating.
