Listen to Obituary

Clarence Wesley “Skip” Taylor, age 86, of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Laurels of Carson City Nursing Home following a brief stay there under hospice care. He was born on October 27, 1939, in Steubenville, Ohio, son of James R. and Mary Taylor, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Steubenville Schools and worked for many years as a self-employed painter. He married Nancy K. Hall-Bauman and she survives to mourn his passing. He loved music, especially playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed meeting with friends at home for bible study and spending time in fellowship with those around him. He could tell a good story and loved sharing them with others.

In addition to his dear wife Nancy, he leaves his children and grandchildren to cherish the memory of him, as well as his brothers, Donnie Taylor and Jimmy Taylor; step-children, Julie Quirk, Melissa Wilson, Patrick Lennemann, and Michael Lennemann; and many step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private Burial Rites are being accorded at River Ridge Cemetery in Belding, and a Celebration of Clarence’s life will be held at a future date. When those arrangements are confirmed, they will be updated to this site. For additional information, please contact Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S.
