Carol L. Allen

Carol Lynn (Aardema) Allen, age 78, of Lakeview, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2025, at Intersect Health Care in Belding, with her husband at her bedside. She was born on January 14, 1947, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Herbert Andrew and Gertrude Clare (Romkema) Aardema, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Lee High School in Grand Rapids and relocated to Six Lakes, as a newlywed with her husband George L. Allen, with whom she exchanged vows on January 23, 1965. Carol worked for many years as a Quality Control Inspector at Hitachi magnetics in Edmore. Following their retirement, she and George spent more than eight years traveling the country pulling their 5th wheel camper, visiting 48 of the 50 states throughout their journeys. She enjoyed working with crafts of all types, particularly quilting, and built many birdhouses using rocks that she gathered from the many places she and George explored. She loved and cared for her family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband George, Carol leaves her dear children, Diane (Doug Peters) Allen of Wyoming and Dale (Tina) Allen of Lakeview; grandchildren, Danielle Allen of Stanton RaDeric Guy of Six Lakes, Alex Allen of Dillon Colorado, and Melissa Allen of Wheat Ridge Colorado; great grandchildren, Fayth Renneberg, Raven Stine and Adam Stine; a sister, Judith Bobeldyke; and many nieces nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Duane Aardema, Karen (Aardema) Conklin, and Herbert J. Aardema.

Private Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery in Lakeview. Memorial contributions are recommended to the Alzheimer’s Association.
