Brian D. Selleck, Jr.

Brian David Selleck, Jr., age 24 of Belding, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 30, 2024. He was born in Ionia, Michigan, on September 8, 1999, son of Brian David and Sherry Virginia (Smith) Selleck. Brian graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 2017. While in High School he was involved in the Band Program and was known for his outgoing personality and sharp wit. He has always been an avid “gamer”, which may have sparked his interest in computers and led to him continuing his education at Michigan Tech, studying Computer Engineering. While attending college, he was also working for Montcalm Care Network, in their IT Support area, and was on track to complete his degree and graduate in November. Brian loved the great outdoors, had a great smile, and will be missed by all who knew him. 

Memories of Brian will be cherished by his loving father, Brian D. Selleck of Belding; his dear sister, Sabrina (Hunter) Grover of Ovid, Michigan; and his nieces, Emery and Elise; his grandparents, Mae Stauffer of Orleans, Margaret (Wayne) Babcock of Greenville and Betty Selleck of Grattan; he will also be missed by his many aunts and uncles, and countless cousins and his great bunch of friends. Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry V. (Smith) Selleck, and grandfathers, Jon Selleck and Greg Staffen. 

Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding. Brian’s Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Jennifer Lien officiating. The family will also greet visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment services are being planned.
