Brenda Cheryl (Jensen) Dillon, age 69, passed away on February 18, 2024, at her home in Greenville. Brenda was born in Greenville on July 4, 1954, the daughter of Roger and Christine (Snyder) Jensen. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1972. In 1974, she married Lawrence Dillon of Grand Rapids, and they moved to Pierson. Together, they had two daughters, Britney and Carrie.
For years, Brenda helped run and maintain the family farm in Pierson, then later in Greenville. She also cherished her work as an interventionist at Faith Community Christian School in Belding where she developed special friendships with the kids and was lovingly referred to by both students and staff as “Mema.”
Brenda will be deeply missed by her husband; her daughters Britney (Dean Eckley) Dillon and Carrie (Seth) Scott; her grandson, Tyler Dillon; her granddaughters, Camille and Coralie Eckley; her brother, Larry Jensen; her sister, Roann (JR) George; her nephews, Jason (Jennifer) George and Nathan (Karly) George; her great-nephews, Benjamin George and Noah George; her uncle, JC Snyder; and her sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Don) Swem and Marcia (Dick) Coffman and their families.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Irma (Gardner) Dillon; and her aunt, Dorothy Snyder.
Brenda’s life and energy revolved around her children and grandchildren. She spent years cheering from the stands in support of many teams as a sports mom and grandma. She traveled countless miles across the country hauling her daughters, grandson, and their horses to shows where she was first the world’s best horse show mom, then finally stepped into arena herself, earning many awards with her partner, Zip Good and Plenty. She loved to travel, and took her grandchildren on annual summer trips, something that became a special tradition for her, Tyler, Cami, and Coralie. She loved to go camping and to the beach with her grandchildren and her sister, Roann. Brenda was always up for an adventure, and looked back fondly on the years she spent at the Hat Ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming, cowboying on spring and fall cattle roundups in the mountains. Brenda was brave, and, through her example, instilled independence and confidence in her family, who will do their best to continue to make her proud.
According to Brenda’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. and the Service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Greenville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alvah N. Belding Memorial Library, or to Faith Community Christian School in her honor.
