Bobby G. Seely

Bobby Gene Seely, age 78, of Belding, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Intersect Healthcare of Cedar Springs following a long illness. Bobby was born May 22, 1947, in Owosso, Michigan, son of Edward and Bonita (Howe) Seely, both of whom preceded him in death. Bobby’s family relocated to Belding where he attended and graduated from Belding High School and then served his country in the United States Army. After returning home he worked for many years at Lu Van furniture manufacturing and later at Clarion Manufacturing in Greenville from which he retired to enjoy a little slower pace. He kept busy though, hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling whenever he could. Bobby attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Belding for many years and was a Life Member of the V.F.W. in Sheridan. He cared deeply for his family and moved in with his mother to look after her as her health declined later in life.

Bobby is survived and will be missed by his children Lisa Wireman of Belding, Greg A. (Steve Schipper) Seely of Cedar Springs, Daniel L. Seely of Belding, Kevin Seely of Grand Rapids, and Kara (Daniel Alberta) Seely of Big Rapids; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Carla J. Seely of Haughton, Louisianna, and Kathy S. Palmer of Greenville, Michigan; a brother in law, Fred Neuman of Orleans, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandy Neuman and Pamela Sloan; a brother, James Seely; a grandson, Kyle Seely, who he raised like a son; and a brother-in-law, Richard Sloan.

.Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan. Bobby’s Funeral will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor, Robert Wagner, officiating.
