Arthur Kellogg passed away on Friday, November 22 at the age of 88. Arthur Leverett Kellogg was born on September 12, 1931 in Lansing Michigan to Ralph and Esther (Cobb) Kellogg. He graduated from Cedar Lake Academy and continued his Christian education at Pioneer Memorial Adventist College (Andrews University) in Berrien Springs Michigan. Art attended Pioneer Memorial College for four years, where he studied and worked in the college press, finding his talent as a typesetter / proofreader. He was offered a job as a press operator in Corunna, Michigan (one semester shy of receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting), which he accepted, moving his wife and children to Owosso, MI, where he resided until 1977. Art later worked as a Locksmith at Jackson State penitentiary and, after a brief retirement, as a Material Packer at Alro Steel, until he retired for a second time in his early 80s. Art was known for his quick wit and infectious smile he was always willing to go above and beyond to provide help to others in need. He was known for his ability to fix anything mechanical and for his talent in carpentry and electrical work.
Art was preceded into eternal life by his parents Ralph and Esther (Cobb) Kellogg; brother Cleon (Sharon) Kellogg; sister LaDonna (Jesse) Walker; and daughter Teresa Kellogg. He is survived by a sister, Le Anna (Clayton) Westfall; son David (Kathye) Kellogg; daughters Marilyn Bledsoe and Carolyn (Marc) Nykerk; son Dennis Kellogg; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Arthur was a member of the Ionia Seventh-day Adventist church for many years.
Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Lansing SDA Church, 5400 W. St. Joseph Hwy., Lansing, Michigan. A fellowship dinner will follow.
