Anthony Gerald “Tony” Comella, age 79, of Belding, formerly of Colorado, passed away early Sunday morning, March 26, 2023, at Corewell Health – Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of John J. and Betty Marie (Piro) Comella, both of whom preceded him in death. Tony graduated from Cleveland area schools and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his service to country, he completed an Associates of Arts Degree in Gunsmithing. He then worked in gunsmithing for many years, owning his own company called Firearms Service Center, in Colorado for approximately fifteen years prior to selling. He and his wife, Bonnie moved to Michigan when they sold the business and worked for a time at Gander Mountain Sporting Goods before retiring completely. He, along with his wife, enjoyed photography in his spare time.
Tony leaves to cherish his memory, his dear wife, Bonnie L. Comella of Belding; his three sons, Nathaniel (Polia) Comella of Pasadena, Maryland, Gerald A. (Shelley) Comella of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Dominic (Melissa) Comella of Severin, Maryland; grandchildren, Jonathan (Monique) Comella, Nicholas Comella, Ashley (Shawn) Gagnon, Anthony (Elizabeth) Comella, Dylan Comella, and Maria Comella; and two great grandchildren with another one due soon.
