Tohm Neal Tyler, age 64, of Fenwick, passed away Sunday morning, March 15, at Spectrum Health, Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids following a brief illness. He was born in Carson City, Michigan a son of Jack Irvin and Marzella Marion (King) Tyler, Sr., both of whom who preceded him in death. Tohm graduated from Carson City High School and also completed coursework at Montcalm Community College. He was a machinist for many years working for Greenville Tool & Die. He kept busy with Tyler Excavating digging ponds and other excavation projects for many area property owners. He also ran Tyler Logging and Lumber and worked in partnership at Fenwick Auto Salvage for several years. Tohm was truly a “jack of all trades”.
Many are left to mourn Tohm’s passing including his children Samantha Jo (Daniel Kyes) Tyler of Sheridan and Pamala Thurber of Fenwick and Jason Tyler of Topeka, Florida; grandchildren Pyper Lorri-Martha Kyes, Wesley Schoen Kyes, and Tyler, Chyianna, Chevy and Ryider Thurber; siblings Renee Harris of Ohio and Tim (Kathy) Tyler of Crystal; a sister-in-law Penney (Jeff) Wheeler of Battle Creek; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorri Etts-Tyler; a daughter, Crystal Tyler; and siblings, Bill Tyler, Jack Tyler, Cindi Black and Ray Harris.
Tohm’s family is planning a turtle cook out at the lake on July 4th weekend in his memory. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcomed to consider a contribution to the benefit of the family.
