Ronald L. Lewis

Ronald Lester Lewis, age 78, of Greenville, formerly of Sparta, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021, following a several-week-long illness. Ron was born in Edmore, Michigan, the son of Lester and Leota Ellen (Stevens) Lewis, both of whom preceded him in death. After graduating from Edmore High School, he pursued his degree at several post-secondary schools including, Alma College, Central Michigan University and Cedarville University. He worked for many years as a railroad switchman, until an accident caused him to be injured on the job. He then embarked on a photography career, working for Guys and Dolls studio in Clare and as a free-lance photographer. He volunteered regularly in support of the food pantry and other outreach efforts of City Church in Greenville. Ron was a great storyteller and enjoyed several pastimes including gardening, cooking, reading a great book and his life-long hobby, model railroading.

Ron leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Timothy (Brenda) Lewis of Belding and Lynette (Travis Clark) Sharp-Drew of Greenville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several aunts and uncles and many cousins, fellow church members, neighbors and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter and a granddaughter.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, June 4, 2020,
beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Verdun family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, with a prayer at 7:00 p.m. Private Interment rites will take place at Breckenridge Cemetery.
