Phyllis A. "Babe" Amirault

Phyllis Ann "Babe" (Antcliff) Amirault, age 84, of Belding, passed away early Thursday morning at Mission Point of Belding Nursing Home. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, daughter of Cecil J. and Myra (Hatch) Antcliff, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Belding Schools and then worked at Jolly Kids in Belding and then later at Gibson's for more than 35 years. She exchanged vows with Robert G. Amirault on July 31, 1982, in Belding and shared 31 years of marriage with him prior to his death in 2013. While focusing on her family and work was her primary mission, she enjoyed several pastimes including reading, sewing, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and she was always up for a trip to go garage sale shopping. Phyllis worshiped at Center Street Free Methodist Church for several years having joined there following Robert’s death.

Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory, her children Dennis (Jeanny) Venneman of Belding, Julie Decker of Orleans, Tracy (Tim) Roundtree of Fenwick; Roberta G. Amirault of Mobile AL, and Theodore A. (Cathy Potter) Amirault of Newaygo; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Langridge and Connie (John) Lynn a brother Dale (Darlene) Antcliff; two brothers-in-law Ken Haverstick and Lloyd Mangus. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by siblings, Richard, Arthur, Diana, Barb, Marylou and Randy; a son-In-law Daryl Decker several brothers- and sisters-in-law.

A memorial service celebrating Phyllis’ life will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding, Michigan with Pastor Jennifer Lien, officiating. The family will greet visitors for an hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment next to her husband, Robert will take place at Green Cemetery in Orleans Township following the luncheon. Those planning an expression of sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution in Phyllis’ memory to the “B” Foundation, which supports cancer awareness and provides support to Belding area families affected by cancer.
