Kelli Dale Bonecutter

October 6, 1965 — May 4, 2017

Kelli Dale Bonecutter, age 51, of Ionia, formerly of Owosso and Englewood, Florida, passed away at home early Thursday morning, May 4, 2017, under the care of her loving family and Hospice, following a long and courageous battle with Lupus. She was born on October 6, 1965, in Owosso, the daughter of Robert O. and Ida May (Hill) Boylan, both of whom preceded her in death. Kelli graduated from Fenton High School and continued her education at the college level. She exchanged wedding vows with Jeffrey Franklin Lyon in Manistee, Michigan in 1994. She worked in several capacities during her lifetime including waitressing, and church custodian while living in Florida, but her favorite work was providing in-home daycare. She loved caring for children. She was an avid fan of the QVC shopping channel and ordered things frequently as well. Her favorite things were the jewelry and makeup segments. She also enjoyed camping and was a NASCAR fan, watching it on T.V. and attending races and Michigan International Speedway on occasion as well. Kelli was a Lupus awareness advocate for as long as she suffered with the disease. She surprised many doctors and other health providers with her ability to fight her way back to health and independence when they did not think it was possible. Through it all she especially loved spending time with her dear family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she spent time with and took care of as often as she could, teaching them independence by showing them how to cook, clean and take care of life needs at a very young age.

Kelli will be remembered by her family including her caring son, Zachairah (Portia) Lyon of Ionia, her grandchildren, Ellah Anderson, Iylea Crissman, Konnar Lyon and Ezmae Lyon; a sister, Charlene of Lansing; an uncle and aunt, Andy and Margaret Hill of Twining who always treated Kelli like a daughter; and several special friends including Lisa Freeberg, Beverly Erb, Karen & Roger Bruchen and Tamara Stamper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy.

Kelli’s family is planning private memorial observances. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcomed to consider a contribution in Kelli’s memory to the wishes of the family.
