Kathryn R. Geiger

Kathryn Rosalie “Katie” (Dehn) Geiger, age 92, of Belding, entered the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She passed away peacefully at Spectrum Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Greenville, following a long stay there. Kathryn was born on May 25, 1930, in Belding, Michigan, to Sylvester and Cora (Richard) Dehn, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1948. Katie worked in several capacities during her lifetime, including positions in the office at Federal Mogul and later at Gibson Manufacturing. She then worked at General Appliance Authorized Parts, from which she retired as Manager of Customer Service. Katie was a life-long, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding, where she was active in many ministries including the Ave Maria Guild. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and meeting with the ladies for lunch once a month. She will deeply missed by all who knew her.

The memory of Katie will be cherished by her dear family including her children, Chris (Alice) Cochran of South Carolina, Alfonzo Paul Geiger of Tennessee, Beth Ann (Dan) Olsen of Belding, Lesley Kay (Douglas) Alles of Greenville and Robert R. (Judy) Geiger of Belding; her dear grandchildren, Jon (April), and Matt Cochran of North Carolina, Benjamin, Brad and Chris Veneklase of Grand Rapids, Aaron Olsen of California and Kathryn S. (Levi Brusacoram) Geiger of Minnesota; 5 great grandchildren; a brother and Sy Dehn of Apollo Beach, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Geiger, siblings, Richard Dehn and Carolyn Jones; and a sister-in-law, Mary Dehn.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 409 S. Bridge Street, Belding. A Rosary will be prayed beginning at 9:45 a.m. at church followed by visitation at church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Mass beginning at 11:00. Private interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Belding. Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcomed to consider a donation in Katie’s memory to the St. Joseph Food Pantry or Thursday night Community Dinner.
