Janet "Sue" (Gould) Wireman

February 8, 1944 — September 25, 2018

Janet “Sue” (Gould) Wireman, age 74, of Belding, passed away at Metron of Belding Nursing Home following a courageous, 44-year, battle with Multiple Sclerosis, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. She was born on February 8, 1944, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Wesley G. and Opal (Pant) Gould, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Lowell Schools and worked at Root Manufacturing in Lowell for several years. Sue will forever be remembered as a free spirit, and a person with strong opinions and a clear and direct communicator. She loved to dance even in the middle of the road if the opportunity arose and most recently, in her wheel chair at her grand-daughter’s wedding. She called Metron of Belding her home for the last 16 years and was loved by staff and known for her stubbornness and special character. Sue loved Bob Seger and Alan Jackson and a steady supply of her Diet Pepsi and “munchies” were essential ingredients for happiness.

The memory of Sue will be cherished by her children, Kernie (Denise) Wireman of Ionia, Karen Bell of Orleans, Vanessa (Terry, Jr.) Madison of Orleans, Toy Wireman of Texas and Tracy Wireman of Orleans; grandchildren Tiana (Nate) Meek, Kayla (Cory) Prominski, Kristina (Eric) Juskewicz, Michile Conley, Dennis Conley, Yvette (Michael) Bowen, Matthew Madison, Cody Wireman and Patrick Wireman; great grandchildren Nova, Ryker, Elizabeth, Corbin, Zane, Destiny, Elektra, Vivia, Devon, Isaiah, Sophia and Haidlee; a sister-in-law, Shirley Gould; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Chuck Gould, Wesley Gould, Mary Wireman and Eileen Jourdan.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 28, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding. The Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, at the Funeral Home with Pastor John Prominski officiating. Burial will follow at Orleans Township Cemetery. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcome to consider a donation in Sue’s memory to the wishes of the family.
