Judy Kay Nowak

September 23, 1941 — February 17, 2022

Judy Kay Nowak, age 80, of Belding, formerly of Allen Park, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2022, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born September 23,1941, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Gordon Graves and Florence Esther (Laney) Teeple, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Lincoln Park High School with the Class of 1959, and was active in the Lincoln Park High School Alumni Association, organizing, planning and attending events in Michigan and Florida through the years. Judy worked for many years at Eye Care Optometry and was an optician and office manager at the time of her retirement, when she stayed home to care for her mother who was suffering from dementia. She married William J. Nowak on Sweetest Day, 1984, and the two made a perfect pair. They traveled, played cards, organized and hosted parties, wintered in Florida, spent countless summers at the campground at Presque Isle and the whole while, cared dearly for each other and their kids and grandkids. She was a long-time member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lincoln Park, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice, Florida and most recently St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Judy had a great smile, a generous heart and a sense of humor that kept the conversation moving around the campfire.

When Judy passed away, she was at home, with family, in Belding, Michigan, under the care of Hospice of Michigan. Nothing was more important to Judy than her family which includes her daughters, Diana (Mike) Verdun of Belding, Jennifer (Gerry) Padgett of Allen Park and Toni (Jeremy) Lesatz of Allen Park, her son Steve (Amanda Haliburton) Williams of Hobart, IN, her grandchildren Grace and Jack, Steven, Kristen and Amanda, Jamie, Evan, Libby and Gabi, Bethany and Allison, many great grandchildren and her sister, Debra Carreon of California. Judy was truly blessed with many great friendships that helped she and Bill live a life full of laughter. She was preceded in death by her dear, husband, Bill, her son, Greg Williams, her parents and stepfather, North J. Stockton, her brothers, Scott and Mike Teeple and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
