Jack L. Scheid

Jack Lyle Scheid, age 88, of Belding, passed away early Sunday, November 14, at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Campus, in Grand Rapids. Jack was born on December 12, 1932, in Belding, Michigan, the son of George T. and Lena (Breuer) Scheid, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Belding High School and continued his education with college coursework. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He married Marianne Golden on August 14, 1954, in Denver, Colorado, and they have shared 67 years of marriage. Jack worked for Indian Summer for many years, retiring as a Plant Manager. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding and was also active in the Belding Lions Club for many years. Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed time on the links as often as possible.

Jack leaves to cherish his memory, his dear wife, Marianne; his children, Kathy (Craig) Bannister of Belding, Kenneth (Julie) Scheid of Benson, AZ, Thomas (Kathleen) Scheid of Rochester, MN, Patricia Scheid of Silver Springs, MD, William (Jane) Scheid of Brimley, MI and Nancy Emsley of Oceanside, CA; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Donald “Dick”, Harold, Doris, Paul, Howard and Thelma.

Interment with Military Honors will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. Joseph Cemetery, ( Bridge Street 1/2 Mile S. of M-44, East side of Road ) Belding, with Fr. Tom Brown officiating. Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcomed to consider a donation in Jack’s memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Alvah N. Belding Memorial Library.
