Ida Marie O'Connor

Ida Marie O’Connor – Janesville, WI / Belding, MI, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2021 at the Greenville United Memorial Hospital. Ida was born July 28th, 1928 in Oxford, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Elmer C. Ganger and Lena (Gullick) Ganger, the youngest of eight children. She married Arthur Leslie, Jr. on August 10th, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. She had four sons, Chaplain David (Margy) Leslie of Belding, Michigan; Pastor Paul (Deanna) Leslie of Belding, Michigan, Steven (Debra) Leslie, of LaSalle, Illinois; Pastor James (Sandy) Leslie of Sidney, Nebraska; step-son David (Bonnie) Krummen of Dade City, Florida and step-daughter Melodie Stehley of Janesville, Wisconsin. Ida’s Husband Arthur Leslie Jr. Passed away in January of 1968. She graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisconsin and then taught at Calvary Baptist Church Christian Grade School. In June of 1975, she married Albert Krummen, Jr. in Watertown Wisconsin. God lead them to serve at Grace Baptist Church in Evansville from 1978-1983. Then, lead by God, they served 16 years in the Christian School at First Baptist Church of Ruskin, Florida. They retired and moved back to Janesville, WI in 1999. Her husband Al Krummen died in June of 2001. Ida then married Ansil B. O’Connor, Jr. on Valentine’s Day in the Plaza Room of River Heights Apartments on Feb. 14, 2003. At the wedding, her son, Chaplain David Leslie gave her away, and her son Pastor Paul Leslie married them.

She is survived by her husband Ansil O’Connor Jr, sons, Chaplain David (Margy) Leslie of Belding, Pastor Paul (Deanna) Leslie of Belding, Pastor James (Sandy) Leslie of Sidney, Nebraska, daughter-in-law Debra Leslie, step-son, David (Bonnie) Krummen of Dade City, Florida, and step-daughter Melodie Stehley of Janesville, Wisconsin, thirteen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one step-great grandchild, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by seven siblings and a son, Stephan Leslie. Ida attended and was a member of Green Corners Baptist Church in Belding, Michigan.

Visitation will be at Green Corners Baptist in Belding, 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday February 23rd. Pastor Paul Leslie will officiate the service at Green Corners Baptist Church on Wednesday February 24th at 11:00 AM. The service will be streamed on-line on the Facebook Page of Green Corners Baptist Church. Visitation will precede the service at Church from 10 to 11 AM. Ida was a member of Westside Baptist Church while living in Janesville, where a memorial service and Interment rites will be announced at a later time.
