Huey H. Sikes

Huey Howell Sikes, age 84, of Belding, passed away at home under hospice care, surrounded by his caring family, early Tuesday morning, January 10, 2023. He was born on September 4, 1938, in St. George, Georgia, son of John Hansel and Irene (Turner) Sikes, both of whom preceded him in death. Huey was a truck driver for much of his life, driving for Wolverine World Wide most recently prior to his retirement. He relocated to Minnesota for a period of time and returned to Belding to be near family as he needed more assistance. He loved to camp and stayed at many campgrounds throughout Michigan during his lifetime.

Huey is survived by his children, Martha Sikes, Ruby (Don) Wilson, Huey (Sylvia) Sikes, Jr., Mary Rivera, Chris (Terri) Sikes, Corey (Katie) Sikes, and Casey (Jackie) Sikes; many grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; a sister, Martha (John) Henning; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, George, Lemual, Joseph, David, John, Marguerite and James.

A Graveside Service will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Grand Rapids at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2023, with Fr. Larry King presiding.
