Garold L. Simon

Garold Lou “Garry” Simon, age 70, of Lyons, passed away at Sparrow, Lansing Hospital, following a brief stay there. Garold was born in Ionia, Michigan on May 1, 1952, a son of Edward Anthony and Margaret Katherine (Stanton) Simon, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Ionia Schools and worked in several manufacturing companies during his lifetime. His first job was with GenCorp, which crafted Shelby Mustang vehicles, His last employer was Ventra in Ionia. Garry enjoyed many activities in and around his home and one of his favorite pastimes was jumping in his truck and taking a drive through the countryside. He never had an exact destination in mind, but rather, just enjoyed the journey and the time behind the wheel of his truck.

Garry is survived by his sister, Margaret Ann “Peggy” (George) Gomez of Lyons and a brother, Danny (Carol) Simon of Lyons; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Jerry Simon and Larry Simon.
