Frederick Theodore Schmeling Jr.

Schmeling, Frederick Theodore, Jr., age 84, of Whitehall, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017. He was born May 18, 1933 to Frederick and Lillian Schmeling. He married Maxine Schmeling and shared 55 years of marriage with her. Fred served in the U.S. Army and worked at Genesco for many years, followed by Hackley Hospital. Fred loved hunting, fishing and woodworking, especially making hot dog sticks for everyone he knew.

Fred is survived by his son David (Jeanette), and daughters, Janice and Ronda; three grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Dalton, Michigan. Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcomed to consider a contribution in Fred’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
