Floyd Mick” Allen Holliday Jr.

Floyd ‘Mick” Allen Holliday, Jr., age 72, of Orleans, formerly of Lowell, passed Sunday evening, July 15, 2018 at Mercy Health-St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. Mick was born on October 13, 1945, in Lowell, the Son of Floyd Allen and Maxine Mae (Early) Holliday, Sr., Both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Lowell area schools and worked as a truck driver for several Lowell area cartage companies during his lifetime. He served his country in the United States military as a member of a helicopter flight crew. He flew many missions in Vietnam and received several awards and commendations, including one for saving the lives of other members of his crew. He was a member of the V.F.W. and attended Green Corners Baptist Church for many years when his health permitted. Mick married, Kathryn Elaine Smith and she survives. Mick and Kathryn have enjoyed the last several years retired in the Long Lake area.

Mick will be missed by his dear wife, Kathryn; and children, Michelle Arron, Tamie (Mike) Paroff of Lowell, Richard Eric Weber of New Jersey, Mike (Monica) Weber of Orleans and Martin “Marc” T. (Leighann) Weber of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren Mariah Arron, Angela (Craig) Streeter, Amanda Jenner, Derek (Chelsae) Jenner, Sharon Weber, Andrew Weber, Drake Weber and Nicholas Weber; and 7 great grandchildren Ethan, Hailey, Zoey, Connor, Madalynn, Makai and Taytum; siblings Ron (Nancy) Holliday, Terry (Tencha) Holliday, Paul “Cookie” (Sharon) Holliday and Dennis (Cindy) Holliday; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Bill, Dave, Jim and Monica.

A memorial Service will be held at Green Corners Baptist Church on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Paul Leslie officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Bailey Cemetery. Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcomed to consider a donation in Floyd’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
