Florence "Flo" J. Gustafson

Florence Julia “Flo” Gustafson, age 83, of Norton Shores, Michigan, passed away Sunday morning, December 27, at home under the care of her family and hospice following a long illness. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, on April 25, 1937, a daughter of Howard Floyd and Sara Irene (Bentley) Davis, both of whom preceded her in death. Flo graduated from Morris, Michigan High School and was an active member of Future Homemakers of America during those high school years. Following high school, she worked as a home health-aid and caregiver for several different individuals. Flo enjoyed working puzzles, traveling to MTL Canada and camping with her family.

Flo leaves her dear family to cherish her memory, including her children, Valerie (Larry) Ruby of Norton Shores, James (Kristin) Gustafson of Lansing, Rene Gustafson of Lansing and Jason (Jody) Gustafson of Laingsburg, Michigan; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Elijah Gustafson and a brother, Howard E. Davis.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Grace Assembly Church of God, 2956 E. Pontaluna Road, Fruitport, Michigan 49415, with Pastor Casey Arnouts officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the Funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. Private Interment will take place at later date at Oak Plans Cemetery near Shaftsburg, Michigan. Those considering an expression of sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution in Flo’s memory to the Grace Assembly of God or the Alzheimer’s Association.
