Edward Lee Sherman, 80 |

Edwin Lee Sherman, Sr., age 80 of Orleans, passed away on November 7, 2008 at Metron of Belding following a long illness. He was born on May 4, 1928 in Breckenridge to William and Irene (Foster) Sherman. He graduated from Breckenridge schools and served his country in the United States Army. He married Kathleen Ballingash at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hemlock on October 7, 1950 and she survives. Edward worked in the steering gear division of General Motors in Saginaw for more than thirty years retiring about 25 years ago. He and Kathleen moved to Orleans nearly 5 years ago to be nearer to family and enjoy country living as Edward was an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his wife, Edward’s family survivors include children Edward (Linda) Sherman, Jr. of Orleans, Rocky Sherman also of Orleans; grandchildren Edward Lee (Carmen) Sherman III, Amy (Ty Possehn) Sherman; and great grandchildren Ethan and Alex Sherman and Gavin Possehn.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding with Fr. Fred Brucker the Celebrant. Visitation will precede the Mass at church beginning at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will also take place on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 303 S.
