Amanda Jane (LaClear) Hummel, age 31, of   Belding formerly of Ionia, passed away at Spectrum Health, Butterworth Campus on Thursday, April 19, 2011.  She was born on November 14, 1979 at Sheridan Hospital the daughter of   John R. LaClear and Lois Ann (Seeba) Brail.

 

She attended Sheridan Elementary School prior to moving to Ionia with her family where she completed her education.  Following high school she completed her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate at Montcalm Community College.   On June 16, 2001 Amanda was married to Shannon Hummel in Lake Odessa.

 

Amanda enjoyed scrapbooking, garage sales and shopping, she was a bargain shopper well trained by her mother and mother in law.  Amanda was a social person and enjoyed talking and texting her friends. She was a league bowler and loved to eat peanut butter no bake cookies. Above all else Amanda loved spending as much time as possible with family and friends.  Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her four beautiful children.

 

In addition to her husband, Shannon, she is survived by her children; Austyn John LaClear, Hannah Rene’ Hummel, Colton Ray and Jonah Benjamin Hummel all at home; her parents, John R. LaClear and Lois Ann (Seeba) Brail; her in-laws, Raymond and Elaine Hummel of Lake Odessa; grandparents, Ruth Seeba of Belding, Freeman Bever of Lake Odessa. Amanda is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Deborah (Rick) Bridinger of Matherton, Jack ( Sue) Rose of Muir, Jim Rose of Largo, FL, Joseph “Mike” (Paula) Rose of Saranac, Jarrad (Michelle) Rose of Saginaw, Jason Rose of Greenville, Christy (Mark) Kent of Harbor Spring, FL, Wendy (Dennis) Secord of Pahrump, NV, Monte (Jodi) LaClear of Westland, MI; sister in law, Jessica Lynn Hummel of Kentwood; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins; very good friends, Beverly (Pat) Slager of Gowen and Autumn (Scott) DeGood of Belding. She was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin R. LaClear; grandparents, Henry R. Seeba, Floyd R. LaClear, Christina H. (LaClear) Farmstrom and Ellen M. Bever.

 

Visitation will take place on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge St., Belding.  Visitation will also take place on Monday at Green Corners Baptist Church, 4998 Belding Road, Belding, Michigan, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Leslie officiating. Those wishing to express sympathy are welcome to consider a contribution in Amanda’s memory to a fund being set up for the children’s education.
